Sherry Has Increased Bone Density!

Sherry says, "The only problem with The Perfect Workout? "I can't retire because I need to stay near a Perfect Workout studio!" In all seriousness, Sherry does plan to continue. "This is a lifetime commitment. There's always room for improvement. I always felt that way but never did it. Now I'm seeing results, and I like doing it."

After Sherry Tomar was diagnosed with osteoporosis, she forced herself to go to the gym, even though she hated it. The workouts were too long, and she got bored doing the old school routines of three sets at each machine with a lot of rest. So when she got a flier in the mail advertising a 20-minute workout, it caught her attention. She thought, "If can help my osteoporosis and get in a good workout, that's the ticket." She also wanted to get rid of her "lady-arm" underarms and "butt over-hang," as she puts it. Ten months later, "I was absolutely correct," she says. In that time, Sherry maintained her weight, lost 2% body fat, increased her bone density, and put on five pounds of muscle mass. She also got noticeably stronger and firmer, going from 100 to 220 pounds on the leg press and 82 to 130 pounds on the abduction machine.

The numbers are nice, but it's the other side effects that Sherry is excited about. "My legs don't jiggle now when I walk, and I'm still sporting a bikini at 62. I don't have to cover up at the pool. And I have little rhomboids and trapezoids now!" Sherry's husband was so blown away by her results, he decided to join four months ago, too. It's all much more pleasant than her past gym experiences. "I can just show up. There's none of that social stuff like with a regular gym." Michelle, her trainer at the Bethesda studio, is right there and doesn't let her make any mistakes or cheat. "We have a lot of laughs. She's energetic and funny, but that doesn't diminish the seriousness of the training," says Sherry.

A couple of Sherry's interior design clients even noticed her transformation. One commented on her new calf muscles, which he said used to look like two broomsticks in a bucket. Another noticed her well-defined arms. "I can tell when I wear my clothes. I look more shapely. I feel good," she says. Sherry and her husband are on the go, spending weekends in New York City or in the country, or visiting their children who are spread out from California to Greece. "We keep it moving," says Sherry. The only problem with The Perfect Workout? "I can't retire because I need to stay near a Perfect Workout studio!" In all seriousness, Sherry does plan to continue. "This is a lifetime commitment. There's always room for improvement. I always felt that way but never did it. Now I'm seeing results, and I like doing it."

"Skip No Longer Uses a Cane and Has a Firmer, Stronger Body!"

For anyone thinking about doing The Perfect Workout, Skip says, “Try it! In a very short time you exhaust all your muscle groups. It’s a great time savings, and a very efficient way to get in shape.”

Polio is almost a thing of the past today. But back in the 1950’s, Skip Kissinger contracted it at the age of three, and spent his childhood going through corrective surgery and physical therapy for it. Frustrated by the skiing doctors recommended as an extension of therapy, Skip started lifting weights when he was 12, which helped him to overcome the effects of polio. In grad school he discovered Nautilus equipment and got into the best shape of his life. In the ensuing years, Skip’s career in the Foreign Service took him all over the globe. He stopped working out altogether about ten years ago, and slowly started going downhill. “I had gotten fat,” he says. “I found it increasingly difficult to get around and was very unhappy. I got a handicapped parking sticker and walked with a cane.” He started thinking seriously about working out again, but didn’t want to do anything like Spinning, aerobics, or Pilates. Remembering his grad school days, he wanted to find a place with Nautilus equipment. He also wanted something quick and efficient. “When The Perfect Workout flier came, it was like a message from God.”

Skip’s goal was to lose weight and get back in good shape, and primarily build up his legs again. “I know the value of having a trainer. We need someone to push us to our maximum and watch our form, which we don’t naturally do.” His trainers at the Bethesda studio, Michelle, Jasen, and currently - Mark, have all been extremely good and very professional. “It’s been worth its weight in gold,” he says. The results have been truly transformational. Skip no longer uses that cane, he’s reshaped his body, regained strength and resilience, and gotten a firmer and thinner core. The biggest difference is on his left side. His left hip has gained strength, and his leg muscles have actually grown to nearly the same size as his good leg. “It gives me a sense of freedom. It has helped my whole outlook on life.”

Now that he’s retiring from the Foreign Service, Skip and his wife, Ann, plan to travel a lot. Ann does the slow motion strength training program, too, and loves her newfound strength, so they’ll both do well on the go. He also has plans to get back to playing doubles tennis, hopefully by spring, and continue to get in better shape overall. For anyone thinking about doing The Perfect Workout, Skip says, “Try it! In a very short time you exhaust all your muscle groups. It’s a great time savings, and a very efficient way to get in shape.”
